Which side of the bed do you sleep on and why?
Looking at the bed from the headboard to the foot board, do you sleep on the left side, or the right side?

I'm interested to see if there's a gender trend for a side and if so why that might be. Or, something else, like male sleeps on the side closest to the door--presumably able then to stop an intruder and protect the other occupant.

Does it make any difference if you're right or left handed...possibly an aid during amorous endeavors?

I slept on the right side with my first wife, and on the left side thereafter. Can't really remember it being a conscious decision, it just happened.

We spend about 25-30 percent of our day in that real estate and I'm wondering why, how it gets picked.

I used to sleep on the side closest to the entry door predominately on the right side at our old house and previous apartments. After orienting the bed 90 degrees, I have been sleeping on the left side away. I have always slept on the side that gave me more room to exit the bed basically and navigate my way to the bathroom, lol!

I sleep on the left side and my husband on the right. I have a sunrise alarm clock (it gradually glows brighter up 20 -30 minutes prior to when you need to get up - highly recommend) and it’s on the nightstand, which is on the left side.

My wife claims I sleep right in the middle and hog the whole bed, lol. But officially she sleeps right and I sleep on the left. She is left handed and I'm right, but I don't think that was a consideration. It started that way because I was between her and the door. A protection thing I guess. Now it is habit and she insists on that side of the bed. I think it is because she likes to sleep on her left side and she want me to spoon her. How can I argue with that!?

We wake up in a similar way. My wife has an Alexa routine that starts with playing some calm music, Mozart I think. Then a couple minutes later the night stand lights come on at 5% and lavender color. They gradually get brighter over 15 minutes or so. Then the music switches to something more up beat and finally the light come on full and white. It is a really nice, gradual way to wake up.

That sounds amazing, too! It’s truly a morning routine game changer and it only lights up my side of the bed, which is good because my husband sometimes gets up later than me on weekdays. Although, the highest glow is pretty bright. It also has bird chirping noises too. lol! I just love it so much. ☺

My wife had something like that a while back. The screen got brighter and it played beach sounds. After about 20 minutes it sounded like there was a seagull frenzy in our bedroom, lol. I like the current setup much better.
