given such a high prevalence of cheating and serial monogamy, why do we (in this and similar societies and cultures) insist on monogamous relationship models, and denigrate polyamorous/polygamous relationship models?
I imagine it could save a lot of pain and encourage a lot of personal growth for people who are not 'designed' for long term single partner relationships but dont realize this until they are in one. It would also save time and heartache for their partners also in retrospect.
