From Charles Bukowski:

Sometimes you climb out of bed in the morning and you think, I'm not going to make it, but you laugh inside — remembering all the times you've felt that way.

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire.

Life's as kind as you let it be.

Thus have I heard: Once the Blessed One was staying at Anathapindika's park, in Jeta's Grove, near Savatthi. Then, when the night was far spent, a deva appeared to the Buddha, lighting up the whole Jeta Grove with his radiance. The deva bowed to the Blessed One, stood to one side, and said in verse:
“Many devas and humans, longing for the good, have wondered, what is the greatest blessing of them all. Please tell me what it is!”
The Buddha then replied, “Not to spend time with fools"
-- The Mangala Sutta
Yet, the Fools need his guidance, the more, the rest are that Chorus.

As the Chorus can fit nicely in a thimble, the Fools feel the oceans, that close-shouldered bathtub.

When we become as men, we will no longer ape the howling ignorant.
This will never come to pass.

We can try to smile past that genetic shadow, but fail.

We can never escape the belligerent, that ape can never be bred out.

I have learned now that while those who speak about one’s miseries usually hurt, those who keep silence hurt more . - C.S. Lewis

Pain and pleasure touch the same nerve endings.

One hurts, while the other feels good.

Pain sucks harder, while pleasure has a happy ending.
