Might be controversial opinion but I'm going to say it anyways. I'm not one of those who thinks the older men are predators in these types of relationships. I actually think it's the young women that are the predators. They understand what they are getting themselves into.

What actually bothers me is the stupidity of some of these old guys who believe these young women are with them for anything other than their resources. They don't bother to ask themselves "if I wasn't providing the expensive dates/gifts/travel or paying her rent/car/bills, would she continue to date me?"

These guys should be using the women in every way possible and make sure to get their monies worth out of them because the women are parasitic and 98% would go find a different host if the guy couldn't provide.

It is sometimes mind boggling the entitlement and delusion of some older guys...My daughter(20) told me that when she worked in a retail job, that at least once a day, a guy older than me would actually start hitting on her...What's even more incredible is that most, if not all, were disgustingly gross...What are they thinking??

I have no interest and wouldn't ever conceive of it, but at least I take care of myself and present well/youthful for my age..I mean, maybe there should be a rule, that if you are a guy and can't look straight down and see your **** and your feet, have a comb over, and wear black socks and sandals, stay in your lane....lol..

Most of the young female attractive bartenders or servers I know get the "Sugar Daddy" package offer all the time from random old dudes. My sister used to wait tables in LA and it was constant. I bet sugaring supports half the LA economy. The thing is the guys that lead with this approach are usually unattractive and older. So by the time they do find a taker it is probably someone that isn't into them at all. In some cases the relationship is barely sexual at all. For the record not all sugar relationships are like this, but I've found that guys they have nothing else going but the wallet know it, and are okay with having a partner that is grossed out by them. It means that much to them I guess to have some occasional arm candy.

Men don't need to lay bricks to get paid well either. Still, 95% of bricklayers are men. That's just one profession of many that offer decent pay with no education required. It's hard, dirty work though, so ladies won't do it.

Just like many men refuse to be secretaries/assistants and would rather lay brick than answer phones and get other people their coffee.

BTW, I'm not arguing that older men have so much over older women. I'm just observing data.

There is obviously a lot of things to consider.

As an individual, I'm not even interested in "kids" (anyone young enough to be dating one of my own).

Young people are virile and pretty but mature, more developed women are the only potential mates I would consider if single, which I really don't want to be.

Just for data, I did get hit on by a lot of women in their 20's during my 40's but they probably thought I was early 30's to be fair.

Since I've hit 50 the aging process is working faster and the really little "kids" are mostly leaving me alone.😉

And that could be the case but this is kind of reinforced by the data that about a third of men under 30 are not having sex while the percentage of women in that range is much smaller, who are celibate.

I'm alarmed by both of these statistics.

If about 30+% of men under 30 are celibate and about 60+% of them are single, it's looking dismal out there and I'm convinced it isn't good for us as a civilization.

But historically, a lot more women have reproduced than men so maybe this is some cycle humans just repeat in some form or another.

Because STEM jobs are hardly nastier in terms of gender differences.

There's a lot of overlap there. It suggests many guys are having casual sex with women who believe they are dating.

More women in that range are having sex as well and life could be accurate about how the data was collected but if more women are having sex in that age range than men, they are either sharing or going a bit older.

I'm going to recheck what exactly they did for this study. I'm curious to see if they only collected data on heterosexual people too. I'm feeling they did because homosexual men are having a lot of sex. LoL!

I'm sure there are some ladies who are involved with much older men who cheat with younger men, just as there are some bored housewives out there that will bang anyone that shows them some extra attention. Does that account for all of the sexual activity out there? Not likely. Some of the 30% single men getting laid out there are banging their exes. That's what most guys I know do. Plenty of other guys are cleaning up on the dating apps if they got the right look. That accounts for more of them. Some of us have female friends we have an arrangement with, that accounts for some more of it. And there's also a surprisingly large amount of otherwise straight living men who are getting something from gay men on the side. My ex wife was friends with a gay guy who never stopped telling stories about all the straight guys he's given a BJ to when they were hard up.
