I really must STOP doing this!

Sigh... whenever I run into a former (which has only been a few times), I always say "yeah, XYZ was a real ass for firing me the way he did." And they say "oh yes, he was. Everyone knew he was wrong." Then I leave feeling really horrible about myself for a few days because I relived that unjust humiliation in my soul! Why do I do that? From now on, I am never bringing up the humiliating firing if I run into an old co-worker. And this firing happened 7 years ago!

You're right. I should let it go. I usually do forget about it. But sometimes it just comes back to haunt me, especially when I see old co-workers. One time I ran into the guy who fired me in a parking lot. LOL I said hello. ;)
