Here's my petty rant of the day. You know when you follow your favorite restaurants either in social media or email notifications? My rant is that some places never give you a good perk. Like Maggiano's never gives a coupon for anyone who might eat alone. It's always spend $30 or more.

They also have great sounding deals like buy one, get one or take home four entrees at special price -- but all those are the same restricted entrees -- and none of them are the ones I like. They never put the good stuff on there. So it's not a good deal at all. This has been going on for years. I don't see the point. (n)

I'm pissed about all the junk emails I get daily. It's taken over my email account. If I don't delete the junk, my email account will fail and outlook stops downloading email.

I HATE JUNK EMAIL... {this is not a petty rant, it's just a good old rant... :mad:o_O }

Yes! Just a little hole in the wall message board I used to call home. And I’m still trying to let off a little steam, but it’s going to get better. Other than that, I’ve got nothing. Just a well deserved three day weekend.

^ Isn't that the truth. I'm on Outlook for the most part and they have all these tools that if they worked would be great, but they haven't worked for decades. They did do an update a few months back and it did seem to take care of some of the porn at least!

I used to go to his one restaurant who claims they invented the margarita machine, and they might have. Anyway, they push drinks on your ruthlessly. I hate that. Especially when I bring a friend who is in AA. Even if you tell them no one drinks, they keep at it.

Then the other thing is they don't control kids at all there (They stood right there and watched while someone's toddler, Sticky Vicky, stuck her hands right into my chip basket.) So they cling to being a "family restaurant," while pushing tequila on everyone in there who has to drive home, with their kids. I once wrote and told them they can be either/or but not both. In the end, I stopped going because their prices were too high and they took my favorite entree off.

Wow, I really was pent up and needed to rant. Thanks for listening!

I'll be fine in a bit. Still letting off steam from my above post from yesterday. That place is horrible. Horrible. I could go into detail, but that's a LONG story. I'm sorry but I'm really wanting to speak my mind today so this has turned into a rant. Again, I'm glad I found this place. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Awww, nothing worse than being mad at yourself. Hey, we all make mistakes, and you never know but that it might lead to something better.

I hate the fact that no matter which news channel you watch ... it is all spun in one direction or the other. Neutral unbiased news can’t be found and social media seems to be the new “facts”

It is very frustrating and especially this close to election time. As far as cable news they're all biased. Network news is pretty much all biased and the only one I trust a little bit is CBS who are still trying to do journalism at least. But the problem with the evening news is they don't go that in-depth on things.

During the protests and riots, what I would do is follow the local news in the cities where they were handing and a lot of them were extremely biased too, but I would look for the one with the best ground coverage so that you see what was going on. During that time I was following King 5 in Seattle and independent journalist Andy Ngo in Portland. And I began watching conservative news station OAN only because they had great ground coverage there for a while and none of the other cable news did.

And my focus is on crime and the Border issues, so what I do is on social media I follow the individual entities such as border control and department of Justice and a dozen more so that I can see when there is a pressor or a news release and I can listen to it for myself or read it and get the truth as far as what they are putting out rather than getting the abbreviated and biased version from the news. For instance CBP post theur big busts and it's interesting to see how many there are and what variety. Homeland Security, ICE, BJS, DOJ, National Police Association, and then I follow some individual cities, but most of their papers are extremely left biased. I followed them for whatever local crime reporting they do.

That's the reason the world is so messed up right now and divided. We're all being manipulated by media and it's very hard to find the truth. so whatever your interests are I can only recommend going to the most direct sources which are not news media but the actual agencies ir companies or entities.

I'm mad at myself. I am baking a cake and I should have put the oven on clean first because it's all smoking and will probably ruin the taste of the cake.

My oven is still down. I can count that as a rant because it shouldn't have happened but it did. Heating element is out. It was fried after the last time I cleaned it. I overlooked the fact that the breaker was set to 'on' when I plugged the eye back in. I'm as cautious as they come but things happen.

I would be surprised if the element is burned out, it may be the thermostat or depending on the type of oven it could be the controller or timer.
Elements are very easy to replace as are thermostats but knowing which one is damaged is the hard part.
