The big goal among the Democrat candidates is “beat Trump.” Obviously, beating the Republican candidate would always be their goal in any election, but this time, they are making it a point of urgency. Let’s pretend this were an election where the Republican president was anyone but Trump and wasn’t controversial. With that in mind, is there a single Democrat candidate that would even raise an eyebrow or keep you from dozing off?

I just meant that they seem so focused on “beat Trump” that they aren’t showing
much substance on who they are as individuals. They feel that any one of them is better than Trump, so all they have to do is smile, seem nice, and draw votes. In the beginning, everybody thought Joe Biden was going to be “the man,” but he doesn’t seem to be setting things on fire. I try to watch the debates, but they seem like reruns.

Who was everybody?

Dems have hard time coalescing because they aren't Ditto heads or extreme socialists that the right likes to make them out as.

So you are crying about a generalization while generalizing roughly half of the US population?

See the problem here?

The Democrat line-up is about as weak as it has ever been, that is likely why you see all of the "urgency" and Chicken Little act, it's all they've got after repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot. The Republicans had shamefully weak candidates to run against Obama ( part of the political see-saw maybe?). Trump is the result of all of that and was, by far, not the pick of the GOP, but I doubt either party will learn from it that they are NOT making it about the people instead of about their re-election, as they are repeating the same old crap. Pander to the masses and minorities before election day and ignore them after election day.

The 90's called. It wants its pejorative back.

No, the donks are having a hard time because of the #Great Awokening. When your party is increasingly being driven by paste-eaters who care more about immigration than keeping out a potentially catastrophic virus, you have to know that you are screwed.

What's the deal with Bloomberg? I live in a state that isn't critical in an election like the big states. Still, Bloomberg is blasting us with ads. The latest one shows him "working" with Obama on gun control. Gun control in AZ? Yeah, right … Don't even try to take F-150s or guns from Arizonans! Yet here is Mike, advertising day after day. Haven't seen a single ad for any other candidate.

Mike is paying for these ads from his own deep pockets. He's also made it known that he's not beholden to any faction since he's not taking contributions. So this leaves me scratching my head. Just some rich guy who wants more power? Sorry for being so naïve about this, but I'm trying to figure out just why he's advertising so heavily in a state that, I believe, only has eight electoral votes.

Please weigh in.

That’s what seems strange to me. The Democrats think that getting Trump out of office is such an emergency, yet this is all they can produce to beat him?

I don’t see how having this discussion could possibly be beneficial to me as a dem. It’s clear whatever we answer will just be torn to shreds, bashed, insulted and ridiculed.
I'm certainly not here to bash or ridicule. I honestly want to know what people think about the group of Dems running for president. There IS a lot of bashing on these so-called "news" programs too. I was channel surfing this week, and for some reason I stopped briefly on The Laura Ingraham Show on FOX. Good lord, the partisanship made me gag. But I get the same garbage on the opposite side of the fence from MSNBC.

I read an interview with James Carville on MSN yesterday. He sounded pretty disgusted with the Dem candidates, but he made it crystal clear that getting the Dems "into power" (his words, not mine) was the primary importance. Okay, fine.

Heck, I would just like to know who here is leaning towards a particular candidate and why. I'd certainly like to read less bashing and taking things so personally and just get some insights.

I believe you and don’t think you would bash. But there are 20 or so others who would bash so there’s no way I would line up for that kind of thrashing here. It’s like some want to get dems and libs to speak out just so they can gang up and make fun of us for entertainment.

You're one of the last people I would think would give a rats ass what someone on an anonymous forum thought of them.
There is constant bashing from both sides and I'm on neither as I consider myself a Constitutional Libertarian and pretty much despise politicians with a few exceptions.

I don’t care what anyone would think of me. But I’m not going to throw myself into a fire either. My opinions would not be valuable to anyone other than as a reason to bash me. There are a few here who seem to think and feel the same as I do and I’ve seen them get hammered enough to know that it’s not going to be a discussion, it will just be a bash fest.

@Faithful Wife - Please feel free to PM me your opinion(s) regarding the Dem candidates. Anything you tell me will be kept confidential. And you are completely correct. There seems to be a mindset here amongst some posters that THEY are right, everyone else is wrong, and they are the political pundits/experts on all things pro-Trump or anti-Trump.

I want to discuss my questions/concerns with other voters. If I wanted complete bias and myopic thinking, I could listen to the talking heads on TV.
