It would awesome.

How do they explain the deaths in Italy, and China’s massive reaction to something not that much of a concern?
They don't, the answers are else where.
The massive reaction is easy to explain. They didn't necessarily know that it wasn't much of a concern at the time. Just like the UK and USA. Italy's deaths would be much harder to explain.
No, not really, not if we are looking for the truth.
In any case, it was still just a model. The new model is still just a model. We don't know facts until afterwards, models are for predicting outcomes. I definitely hope the newer model is more close to accurate but we don't know for sure yet.

We will know a lot more in the coming weeks.
A flawed model used to get us where we are now, oops!
Unfortunately the damage is done and will continue to get worse in regards to the loss of liberty amid this manufactured economic crisis we now have to deal with.

It is still going to overwhelm our health system. It just will possibly not be hundreds of thousands needing hospital care, maybe just tens of thousands or even even less. So at those lower numbers, it is still a catastrophe for the health care workers and the patients.
Yeah, it already is with all the doom porn fueling it!!!

The “doom porn” is falsely creating these patients who are already overwhelmingly our hospitals?

Having spent the last week in a hospital, I’m sorry. You are just wrong. Sick people are lining up out front. They are not pretending or hysterical.

It is not a flawed model, it is revised based on actions taken. The epidemiologist’s being quoted (Ferguson) based his original model if no actions were taken. Too many here are taking it out of context. See my example of three countries (above).

If we ease up too soon, the model gets revised with a second curve.

The only manufactured crisis is the shortage on toilet paper and food items.

Exactly. We have too many relatives in medical field telling us they are seeing an increase.

ETA: sad thing they were seeing it a month ago and the patients couldn’t be tested, and it has been steadily climbing.

That's awesome, @red oak. My brother is feeling a little under the weather and with all the media coverage about it, he thinks he just might have it. Hopefully not, but it's managed to make everyone that much more paranoid about getting it. But if he has, I've been exposed.

Thanks @Ikaika @arbitrator hopefully it's nothing more than a sinus infection. I haven't talked to him yet but he's pondering getting tested just in case. We've had 485 reported cases in my state and that's up 108 since yesterday with 6 deaths. It's got absolutely everyone on edge and while it's easier said than done, that's the last thing anyone of us needs right now.

Hopefully it’s just sinuses.
Be safe.

Yup
Page does not exist.

However, I know about the locust swarms in Africa. They happen all the time. They had them when I lived there when I was kid. The streets had so much run-over-locust-guts on them that cars were spinning out on the gunk.
We'll , food for thought what if because of this virus and a vaccine is made and everyone has to get it or. And it's known without it no ability to buy sell or trade. You know if he mark of the beast. Then I'm gonna start having kittens!!!!

I don’t think you will be forced to take the vaccine (like the flu vaccine) when it becomes available. I would imagine anyone over a certain age or with underlying conditions would be tempting fate if they did not get the vaccine. Nevertheless, enough will get to still provide a level of herd immunity.

Good old Mississippi.
Out of college, I considered law school up in Oxford at Ole Miss.

Years ago, my older brother lived up in the Tupelo/Corinth Area.
Remember those trips up the Natchez Trace Highway!

He lives down here in New Braunfels now!

Looks like we just passed Italy and China today with the most CV cases. USA for the win!
But if you look at per capita, US loses.

Italy - cases per 1 million population 1,333

US - cases per 1 million population 250

There are 35 countries, most with much smaller populations that have a lot more cases per 1 million than the US does.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Also, I don't think we can trust the numbers from China.
