Brian took Jason to his laboratory. It had hundreds of jars and vials, containing chemicals, animal parts and gods knows, what else.

It became clear that the little man was a Wizard.
Hopefully, a good one, as nothing else was going to save him.

In times of true need, pray to a reliable God, else pray for a Wizard.

Brian took his time mixing up some chemicals and scary-looking crushed items.
Thirty minutes later he injected this concoction into the two wounds directly and one into his buttocks.

"Will this work, Sir?" Tempas was gravely worried.

"You should call me Brian"

"Brian, will he live?"

"Ah, let me get my magic portending tablets. They rarely are wrong in predicting."

He quietly left and returned after 5 minutes.

Tempas, days later, recalls what he saw Brian do.

Brian mumbled some words and asked, I presume, some spirits about Jason's situation.
His situation now, and in the next few months.

Brian took the flat 'tablets' and laid out six of them in a double cross layout.
He put another, a seventh, in his pocket.

The first was laid vertical
The next was laid cross ways over the first.
The next went above those first two.
The next was placed under those first two.
The next was placed to the left of the first two.
The last was placed to the right of those two.

He lifted the second tablet and flipped over the first.
He placed it away from the rest.

This is Jason, said Brian.
Tempas could not believe his eyes. The formerly blank tablet now had a very clear image on it.

Brian calls him (Jason) the King of Swords.
A powerful mind acting out, escaping his birth Realm.

He then flipped over the next tablet.
This card showed what was blocking him, fighting him.

This quickly showed a Death figure, with it numbered, XIII

Tempas
gasped, he held his chest.

Brian turned around and put his hands on Tempas's shoulders.

Wait!

Wait for all the cards to be turned over and to be read.

I quit observing the tablet prediction. Only a fool would give credence to such things.
I left and looked into Ulysses and his doings.

[The Helmsman]- yes, I was there (unnoticed and unobserved). At that time (thousands of years ago) I was a rookie angel, not even an archangel. Even, [[[[The Fist]]]] was but number three, back then.

I was sent there as a stow away, and an assassin, if things went south. Uh, whatever direction that indicated failure and a need to abort the mission and kill off its participants (The Argonauts and their 6th D. pilots)

This mission to the alternate Universe, the parallel (to our) Universe, was not sanctioned by THE GOD, our GOD.

These fools, the Argonauts and the Wizard who convinced them to go, were putting the Good Order of Things at risk.

There can be no wars between Universes.

All life, and both GODS would cancel out each other.

I was sent to prevent this.

It gets worse, it did get worse later.

I ask you all of you.....

Who among you has the co·jo·nes to blast away a male dragons large sack?

I thought so.

Go for the eyes.
Who has the co-jo-nes to blow the ball sack off a huge dragon?

C'mon man!

The answer is easy!

Ulysses was this rash, that was part of his plan.

His plan was simple.

He divided his forces into a rather narrow mountain divide.

One half of his Argonauts would man one steep mountain side, the other, yes, the other.

Seeing a probable enemy target, both dragons, per their routine, would fly together down the V-shaped split.

They would light a small signal fire at the end of the divide, bright enough so that the dragons would not miss it.

The sky itself would give away their position and sillouette them against the Moon and the bright stars.

The fire would be ready to set ablaze, waiting for the signal to flash attention to that spot.

When the dragons made their mark and started on their glide path, the Argonauts on both mountain slopes would hide behind the large boulders present.

At the last minute they would all take out their phasors and laze the dragon's burning off their sack with the testicles inside.

This would cause the dragons to immediately go skyward, screaming bloody murder.

The Argonauts would then make taut and securely fasten, four ropes about 100 meters before their main position.

The ropes would be stretched out across the canyon, tied down at each end.
The ropes would be placed at about ~50 meters above their position.

The dragons would not be expecting anything in their direct path. They would be in so much direct pain that they could not see or think straight.

Who would not be?

This maneuver would cause the dragons to crash land, where each group would then go in and hack them to pieces.

The two dragons head and neck would be every mans target.

The first night produced no luck.

Dragons could be seen way off in the distance, none heading this way.

The second night was also looking like a bust when a pair of them were seen in the night sky maybe a kilometer away.

Last night one of the crew members found some sort of large and thin metal plate.

The Argonaut at the end of the canyon began to beat on the plate. This got the attention of the two dragons.

Ulysses hoped they were male Dragons and not nut-less Drag-queens.

The signal was given and the fire was started. It made quite a blaze.

That Argonaut left the scene mostly naked. Prior to that he dressed up a small bush with his clothes.

This would hopefully fool those Dragons in thinking that was a humanoid near the bonfire seen up the canyon.

They made their classic flying formation while heading down the canyon. One to each side, not separated by more than 60 meters.

They came in low.

They flew very low to the side of the canyon and at a minimum speed.

It seemed that they only concentrated on the fire not on anything else in the canyon divide.

Their testicle sacks hung down a good foot on each dragon. With five Argonauts bathing them in phasor power, the sack was sure to be hit.

They turned the power up to maximum.

Right before each dragon came close the Argonauts hit them with the phasors.

Both screeched out an ungodly sound.

Flame briefly came out of ones mouth.
That one crashed into the mountain side with a huge ka-whump.

The other one took off, near straight up, screeching and howling. His ball sack was in flames.

Ulysses and one of the Argonauts ran quickly over to the fallen dragon and hacked its neck over and over.

They did not have time to kill it, just wound it enough so it could not take-off or make a nasty defensive stand.

The moved up the canyon where the ropes were pre-positioned.

The other dragon did not do as predicted and made a much higher pass over.

He had to be coaxed down. Two of the Argonauts went near the other dragon and became bait.

This had to work. The dragon would need to get close to the ground to incinerate these two obvious enemies.

He did not come in the same way, he flew in from the canyon's end.

The two Argonauts saw him make his loop and they dove behind some boulders, right before he let loose with his flame throwing mouth.

Eὔphēmos got partially caught up in the fire ball.
His tunic at his waist caught fire.
He rolled and rolled and managed to get the fire to stop burning.

The dragon kept low and struck the stretched-out ropes as predicted.

It crashed into a large boulder in the bottom of the divide.

All the Argonauts at that location ran down to it and cut it to pieces. They only struck the neck and head, as instructed.

They then went back to the first dragon and finished him off.

Suddenly one of the men shouted out, that he could see another pair off in the distance.

At the end of the night they had killed that second pair.

One Argonaut was killed in a terrible struggle on the canyon floor, one suffered bad burns.

The men were glad when daylight came.

There was no way that they could hide those four huge dead dragons.

The Argonauts cleaned up after themselves, bringing all their gear and anything out that could possibly identify them.
Any footprints were erased with branches and leaves.

They brought with them the dead Argonauts body and hid it inside a depression, under a mound of stones, a mile or so, from the battle scene.

Whoever came looking for them would find only that the dragon bodies suffered burns and were hacked to pieces.

Larsoon found The Black Queen in her bath.

He knocked on the door and she bid him in.

"My Queen, I will wait until you are finished bathing to tell you what I heard.
It is more dad news."

"Yes, tell me later. Sit in that chair and tell me good news."

She was in no mood for any bad reporting.

The Queen had two male servants washing her.

All three were naked. The light skinned and blonde men were (for their species) average height, at 57 inches tall.

They were not Slider, humanoids.

She was at least 75 inches in her bare feet.
She had them scrub and massage her ponderous breasts and other areas more personal.
She was in no hurry.

Larsoon removed his long member and enjoyed the sight.

What do you mean we lost four dragons!!!
Dragons are immortal!!

Ahhh! Arghh!

The Black Queen went crazy, throwing and breaking things.

All her staff, everyone ran from the throne room.
Larsoon remained and took a hell of a beating.

She took out all her fury on her overly tall assistant.

When her anger had subsided, he lay on the floor, bloodied and unconscious.

Ulysses had a plan.

He suspected no more overflights would be performed by whomever sent out the Banshees and later the Dragons.

He instructed Periclymenus to shape shift into a Banshee and enter the forbidden city at the bottom of the plateau. He had already eaten much of the brain of one of the fallen Banshees.
It would be an easy thing to be that creature and roam about unmolested.

The Black Queen summoned her own sorcerers from The Underworld.
That Underworld place was originally found on her own planet.

Not this planet. She is a transplant.

She held an emergency council meeting to discuss how her Banshees and her Dragons could be killed.

"I was told that the Banshees live for hundreds of years", and Dragons for thousands. She spoke to Deadelon, the (her) Master Sorcerer from the Manx Galaxy.

"That is correct, my Queen".

"How is it that both have recently been slain?"

"How is this known? Do you have their remains?" Deadelon was careful in making any pronouncements.

"Ah, not of the Banshees, but we have four dead Dragon carcasses, rotting in a building in sector 2".

"Let me see those bodies, please".

The Queen looked at her security chief and flipped her hand at him, for him to deal with this request.

........................................................................................

All here were correct. Dragons can be wounded but killing is another matter.
Dragons are magical.

Only another Dragon can kill one of its own.

What none of these Other Universe beings knew, was that one of the Argonauts was Echion, the last remaining Spartoi that was spawned from a dying Dragons tooth.

All the swords of these Argonauts had some of his blood wiped onto them, early each day.

The Dragon's magic comes with, and within the blood. This power lasts only a day before the blood dries and loses it potency.

....................................................................................................................................

There was one Banshee hiding in the dark corner, overhearing all that was said.
While noted, no one was alarmed.

Periclymenus's disguise worked perfectly.

The Black Queen became fearful that she would lose more of her creatures, so she kept them inside, in reserve.

Periclymenus heard all of this at a later meeting.

Deadelon noted the Banshee in the corner and approached him.
He asked if he saw who attacked them.

The Wizard got an earful.

Per, Ulysses's instructions, Periclymenus told him that members of the Slider forces had special suits on, and had special (light-laser) knives that slayed his brothers and sisters.

This information was then given to the Queen.

"I had no idea that these creatures can speak?" The Queen was surprised.

"Yes, they can speak. They talk very, very slowly and what sounds like moaning is actually them relating something". The Wizard is an adept at talking to them.
Or, so he thought!

Periclymenus returned to his friends and returned into an Argonaut.

He gave his opinion from what was heard that no more flights would be conducted.

It was now safe to scale the wall at some point.
