This is a conversation I just had with my spouse after reading a few threads on being a man and such.
Me: "So hunny... what do you think makes someone a man?"
Gate: "A woman, land, and gold."
Me: I give him a puzzled look then asked. "So in your mind... would this be by your standards or by societies?"
Gate: "Mine."
Me: frowning a bit I then ask. "So all it takes to be a man, in your opinion, is a female, a hunk of dirt, and gold... which I'm assuming you mean money? I believe being a man is more complicated then that..."
Gate: "No listen. You misunderstood me now hear me out. It is more complicated then that and here is why. I say woman because the right woman, a good woman, will bring love into a mans life and the family he starts with her will teach him responsibility. Land will teach him how to be a provider for that special woman and his offspring. Gold, and yes I did mean money, will bring about security and financial stability in a mans life to be able to build a home among other things for his family."
Me: "That makes sense... but don't you think the woman could aid in getting the land and gold as well?"
Gate: "That's why I said a good woman. The right woman for that man will help and give him the drive to accomplish these things. She would teach him how to be humble with her constant nagging too."
Me: I just gave him a dirty look then.
Gate: Smirks and chuckles then says... "Just kidding!"
Me: "Yeah... sure... azzhole."
Gate: just busts out laughing then
Of course I started laughing with him and even though that's his view... I do like it. Even the nagging part.... lmao
